Micky Dumoulin, 25, who has not spoken to his dad for two years, has been living with his mother in a mobile home after his parents split over a decade ago.
“My dad doesn’t know I’m on BGT at the moment but hopefully it will be a nice surprise,” said the singer who amazed the ITV audience with his version of Bring Him Home from Les Miserables.
“I’m not currently in contact. It is just one of those things that happens with families. It would be nice if he got in touch with me after being on Britain’s Got Talent.”

With 12 million people tuning in on Saturday night, his flawless performance is bound to attract the attention of his father, who works for a window firm.
Micky, of Waltham Abbey, was compared to another Essex boy, superstar Olly Murs by Simon Cowell.
But the music supremo was not so full of praise for Jamie Mitchell, the oldest member of the Cartel Dance Crew.
The five-strong troupe – which also includes Steven, 19, Ed 18, Jordan, 18, and Daniel 16 from Northamptonshire – performed a hip-hop routine to a medley of songs. Simon said: “Jamie, I’m not being rude but you shouldn’t be in the group. I’m sorry but you stuck out like a sore thumb. It’s like putting David Walliams in One Direction it just wouldn’t work.
“Seriously Jamie, I really like the four. I just don’t like the group with you in it.”
At 27, Jamie is almost a decade older than the youngest member of the group – but he is the one who put it together in the first place.
He has received lots of support on Twitter and Facebook. One fan said: “Simon is just jealous.”
And fellow BGT judge Amanda Holden branded the music mogul’s comments “evil”.
