'When I'm 64' becomes reality for two Beatles fans who wed after 50 years apart #CarryGobySeanKellz #FutureGroupNG via @i_amreginaldjr

TEENAGE sweethearts who had not seen each other for nearly 50 years and lived 4,000 miles apart have just tied the knot.

Gill Pickett, 64, married Mike Sutton after losing touch for 50 years. Right, The Beatles in 1964 [CATERS/GETTY]
And, appropriately for Beatles fans, they got married when bride Gill Pickett was at the milestone age immortalised by the Fab Four with their hit When I’m 64.
Divorced mother-of-three Gill had dated widower Mike Sutton, 67, for 18 months after they met while working at the same department store in Grimsby.
Supermarket worker Gill said: “We were huge fans of The Beatles. Never in a million years did I think the words of When I’m 64 would come true for us all these years later.”

They lost touch after splitting up. Both married other people and had children, with Mike emigrating to Canada. He would come back to Grimsby to visit family and she had often gone to Canada to visit her best friend.
A strange quirk of fate brought them back together when her friend’s husband and Mike, back in Grimsby at the same time, bumped into each other in the street.
Gill said: “I just couldn’t believe it. We went for coffee, spent time together and after visits decided to marry. There’s no time to waste at our age. I’m just over the moon.”
Former TV producer Mike said: “I fell in love when we met in 1964. I recognised her instantly and my feelings were still there.”
They wed at Easter, a year after the reunion.
Following their honeymoon in Tenerife they plan to live in Alberta, Canada.
