A DRUNK pregnant woman who bit another woman's face after a boozy day at the races has been jailed.
Leonard, 31, who works as an insurance clerk and is currently 20 weeks pregnant, has been jailed for 27 months after admitting causing GBH.
Birmingham Crown Court heard that the attack took place after a row broke out on a coach taking the women back from Ascot's Ladies' Day last year.
The argument started after Leonard was late returning to the coach, causing friction between her sister and the other women on the vehicle, who feared they would have to pay a £1,000 penalty for the wait.
A drunken Leonard eventually arrived, but the "aggressive and foul mouthed" row continued on the way back to Birmingham.
Prosecutor Alexander Davies said that Leonard followed her victim off the coach, before punching her to the floor and biting her in the face.
Joseph Keating, defending, said his client was extremely remorseful and the incident had had a big impact on her.
Sentencing Leonard yesterday, Judge Peter Carr said: "It's plain that you had far too much to drink. No doubt because of what happened earlier you attacked her."
He added: "The really vile aspect of this case is the fact that you bit her."
