His brother Prince Harry struggled academically but, although William emerged from Eton with 12 GCSEs and three creditable A Levels - an A grade in geography, a B in history of art and a C in biology - it appears his time at the £33,000-a-year public school was not the best period of his life.
William, 31, made the confession during a conversation with Girl Guides at Wimnalee in the Blue Mountains.
He asked which of them enjoyed their lessons. “A lot of the littler ones put their hands up. A lot of the seniors didn’t put their hands,” Brianna Sten, 13, said.
She told how William then responded by saying: “That’s all right. I didn’t really like school either.”
Brianna said she told him: “Me too.”
