The monstrous vegetable – 20 times the size of a normal cauliflower – was the work of champion grower Peter Glazebrook.
He also holds records for the longest beetroot and parsnip (21ft and 19ft) plus the heaviest onion (18lb) and potato (11lb).
He also grew a 97lb marrow.
The team of judges visited Peter’s greenhouse in Newark, East Midlands, because his Darwin cauli ripened too early for traditional showing at the end of September.
Peter, 69, who has been nurturing it since July, put his record breaker down to the mild autumn.
As the green-fingered would say, it leafs the previous 1999 record in the shade at a paltry 54lb.
