This Morning presenter says the NHS sometimes forgets about the elderly and more needs to be done to help them
RYLAN Clark is in pieces after losing his nan to Alzheimer's.
The This Morning presenter's grandmother Rose Walsh was 87-years-old when she passed away last Monday.
"I'm absolutely heartbroken, but in a way we lost her moths ago," he told The Sun.
"The last time I saw her was just over two weeks ago and a part of me wanted that to be the last time I saw her.
"[While we were talking] she suddenly had this moment of clarity. She looked me in the eyes and said 'I love you. Stop worrying.'"
It's been reported that there is now a new blood test that can help fight the cruel disease.
However, the breakthrough is too little too late for Rylan's nan and the former X Factor star says more needs to be done to help sufferers.
"We need a cure – surely someone can find a cure," he added.
"I love the NHS but a lot of services do give up on old people.
"This country forgets about old people and it's just not right."
