FRIENDS of Coronation Street and Royle Family actress Sue Johnston have spoken of her devastation after her treasured pet dog was killed by a farmer.
The one-year-old pup was being walked by a friend of the actress with another Cocker Spaniel called Hattie around lanes in Marton, near Macclesfield.
Sue, who played Gloria Price in Corrie, had been scouring fields near Messuage Lane ever since.
It has now emerged that Bo and Hattie were shot dead by a farmer while chasing livestock.

Dog lovers on the forum dedicated to finding missing dogs have spoken of their sadness at the news.
One member of the website said: "RIP sweetheart. So very sad for you and your owner that it ended this way."
By law farmers are allowed to shoot a dog if they believe it is the only reasonable way of stopping it worrying livestock.
They must report the shooting to the police within 48 hours.
