Reports in Italy suggest that Liverpool have identified Tevez as the man to replace Suarez should the 27-year-old be tempted away this summer.
Suarez has been outstanding for the Reds this season and is highly unlikely to leave after signing a new contract in December after being tempted by interest from Arsenal last summer.
With Liverpool now guaranteed Champions League football next season and with the prospect that the club will have a Premier League title to defend there will be little incentive for Suarez to go anywhere else.
Liverpool have identified Tevez as the man to replace Suarez should he be tempted away this summer.
But that hasn't stopped speculation that Real Madrid, in particular, could launch a sensational bid for the Uruguayan funded by selling Karim Benzema to Arsenal.
And it seems that Liverpool have not completely ruled out the possibility after putting a contingency plan in place should the unexpected happen.
Tevez left Manchester City for Juventus last summer in an £8m deal and has scored 18 goals in 30 Serie A games this season.
But the Argentine has extensive experience in England and could be deemed surplus to requirements should the Turin club receive an offer that gives them a decent return on their outlay last summer.
