Sherwood is widely expected to leave White Hart lane this summer although he still has one year left to run on his current deal.
However, there has been no shortage of candidates linked with the position including Ajax coach Frank de Boer and Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino.
But Sherwood has delivered a stinging message to any prospective candidates.
"Some of these managers are touting themselves for my job, I don't think that's right," he said.
Until they haven't got a manager and until I haven't got a job, say nothing
"Every press conference I do it's 'this manager's coming in' - van Gaal, then Hoddle, this one and that one.
"It's something that doesn't sit well with me. If anyone ever asks me about another job I just tell them that they've got another manager.
"Until they haven't got a manager and until I haven't got a job, say nothing."
Sherwood has now won 12 of his 20 Premier League games in charge of Spurs.
