WE always suspected that Nicole Scherzinger's exit from the X Factor may have had something to do with Cheryl Cole's return – and it looks like we were right.
Simon Cowell has admitted that Lewis Hamilton's girlfriend is not on the judging panel because she would have clashed with the former Girls Aloud singer.

In an interview with The Sun, the music mogul revealed he had to let the former Pussycat Doll go after Chezza came on board.
The 35-year-old Hawaiian-born singer announced her departure from the ITV talent show in February but after rumours of Cheryl's return, it didn't take a genius to work out Nicole was for the chop.
"I don't think the two of them would work well together," Eric Cowell's dad confessed.
Meanwhile, it looks as though there is someone on the panel Simon definitely cannot live without – his old pal  Louis Walsh.

Lauren Silverman's partner added: "I would find it difficult to do it without Louis. I tried it once without him and it didn't work."
But what will Cheryl say, eh Simon?

The dad-of-one also admitted today that he would NEVER hire Gary Barlow again.
"The truth is, and I am not being rude, I wouldn't hire him to run my record label," he told The Mirror.
"Essentially that is what you are doing on The X Factor."
