ANDER HERRERA has passed a medical and has flown to Manchester with the midfielder poised to become Louis Van Gaal's first United signing.
And with Van Gaal backing the move from Brazil where he is coaching Holland at the World Cup, Herrera could seal his move within the next 24 hours.
According to reports in Spain, Herrera has already undergone a medical and flew to Manchester last night.
Spanish sports paper AS also claims the 24-year-old has said his goodbyes to his Bilbao team-mates.
