Scholes returned to Carrington today after accepting the call from interim manager Ryan Giggs to assist him in temporary control.

Giggs was appointed as a short-term replacement for the sacked David Moyes yesterday, taking training with his new-look backroom team this morning.

Scholes rejected an offer from Moyes to take up a full-time position on United's coaching staff last summer, indicating he wanted to spend more time with his family.
But the former England midfielder is now back at Old Trafford alongside close friend Giggs and fellow Class of '92 stars Nicky Butt and Phil Neville.

The quadruple of United legends presided over the training session this morning as the Red Devils moved on from Moyes' 10-month tenure.

"It's great to see Paul Scholes here at the Aon Training Complex today, assisting Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt and Phil Neville," United tweeted earlier today.
