One ‘lucky’ kidnap suspect saved #CarryGobySeanKellz #FutureGroupNG via @myentertain9jar

Men of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps,NSCDC,Ogun State Command have rescued a middle-aged woman, Favour Okoye, from being lynched by a mob for allegedly kidnapping a baby in Abeokuta.
The incident which happened at Totoro area in Abeokuta around 2:55pm attracted people from far and near.
In a statement released Wednesday by the Command spokesman, Olanrewaju Kareem, the woman was reportedly beaten into unconsciousness by the mob, but was promptly rescued and rushed to the hospital.
The Public Relations Officer disclosed that his men were alerted by a taxi driver,who witnessed the incident.
He said,” a taxi driver alerted Civil Defence men who were on special assignment monitoring some infrastructure around Akin-Olugbade/Pepsi/Totoro areas that a woman has been attacked around Totoro and was about to be killed.
“The men quickly raced to the scene to rescue the woman but, all effort and appeal by Civil Defence to allow the suspected kidnapper face the consequence through the legal process proved abortive, as the mob insisted on killing the woman.
“Because of this development, the Civil Defence officer called the office for reinforcement as a result of which armed men were deployed to the scene.
“In spite of the fact that our men on ground were able to take possession of the suspect and took her towards Akin-Olugbade area in order to get a vehicle to convey her to a safe place,they were still following them and were all along resisting that the woman should not be taken away”,the spokesman said.
“The situation became more violent when the armed men of our Command arrived, they threw available objects including bottles,planks,stones among others. The mob, though, succeeded in breaking the windscreen of our vehicle, we were able to rescue the woman from being killed”,he revealed.
The woman was immediately rushed to Federal Medical Centre,Idi aba,Abeokuta.
The Command has appealed to the public to ensure justice through legal means and cautioned that jungle justice will make innocent people to suffer.
In another part of Ogun state, in Ijoko area, three kidnapping suspects were killed by a mob today.
