He can't afford to lose the title! Danny Murphy's stark warning to Manuel Pellegrini #CarryGobySeanKellz #FutureGroupNG via @myentertain9jar

MANUEL PELLEGRINI will have serious questions to answer if he fails to guide Manchester City to the title this season, that is according to ex-Liverpool star Danny Murphy.

The title appears to be in City's hands after Liverpool slipped up last weekend at home to Chelsea.
Though the Citizens have made progress in the Champions League, they have only had the Capital One Cup to show for their efforts so far this season.
And Murphy thinks it is inexcusable with the money lavished on the squad, that City can't fall short this season in the title race.
“He's been handed a second chance this season to win the title and, if he throws it away again, there will be big question marks asked about his leadership and his managerial qualities," Murphy told talkSPORT.

With the squad he has got, if he loses to Everton and then loses the title, it's nail in his coffin

“They have only won the League Cup and they had it [the Premier League title] in their own hands a few a weeks ago. With the squad he has got and the money he has spent, if he loses to Everton and then loses the title, it's nail in his coffin.
“Yes, he got them further in the Champions League, which they should have done after another year’s experience, but the Premier League is wide open this year and they have had a chance to be in control of it but lost some really silly games.
“Now they have been given a second chance with three games to go. If he can’t motivate them players to win those three games then I’m asking some serious questions.”
City could go top of the table should they beat Everton on Saturday (5:30pm).
