His deal comes as it emerged Southampton want £30million for Adam Lallana because of a 25 per cent sell-on clause that will immediately see a hefty chunk of the fee go to Bournemouth.
Rodgers put pen to paper on a four-year contract he agreed in principle at the start of the month, as revealed by Express Sport, as a reward for transforming the club into title contenders.
Liverpool fell just short in their quest for a first championship since 1990, ending runners-up to Manchester City having finished seventh the previous season, but Rodgers insists the plaudits he received for an entertaining style of play must be accompanied by trophies.
"I've got absolutely no interest in being anywhere else," said Rodgers. "We've really rediscovered the soul of Liverpool in particular this season.
"But I also need to know it's going to be right as well because I want to succeed. "I want to win and I need to know that if I am going to be here I'm going to have the best possibility to win. I need to know that this is an idea and a way of working that's set up to win; it's not just to look good.
"And I need to know that I can have players that can carry out the instructions that we want to work to win trophies.
"I have been convinced about that. The owners have been great. They're winners themselves. They want to win. But we want to work it in a way that makes the club sustainable.
"We've clearly shown that it's about the top quality but it's also about being strategic in those signings as well, bringing in the right players. It's key for me that I can speak to the owners like that."
In a joint statement principal owner John W Henry and chairman Tom Werner revealed Rodgers' importance in shaping Liverpool's fortunes had been spelt out in talks with senior players.
They hailed the Northern Irishman, who had 12 months to run the deal he signed in 2012 when arriving from Swansea, as a "hugely talented individual." Rodgers will now spend the summer targeting the quality signings that he feels Liverpool need to maintain their momentum.
A £20m bid for England midfielder Lallana has already been rejected by Southampton executive director, Les Reed, and Liverpool will have to significantly increase that offer if they are to prise the player away from St Mary's.
Liverpool have bid for Bayern Munich's Xherdan Shaqiri as an alternative to Lallana, but remain in dialogue with their Premier League rivals.
Rodgers, who is also keen on Southampton defender Dejan Lovren to bolster a backline that was found wanting too often last season, believes qualification for the Champions League will make recruitment easier.
"The big lure will be Champions League, that's what I've found in my conversations with agents and people. The best players want to play in the big competition," he said.
"That's the fight and I certainly found that last summer. There was one player we offered more money, but he went elsewhere just to play Champions League football.
"But we've put Liverpool back on the map now. Everyone sees that we're going to be a threat; that we're going to go into Europe next year and we'll have no fear. "That's what top players want - they want to play in teams where they can show their talents."
