Holland coach Van Gaal introduced midfielder Clasie and central defender Indi Martins - both 22 - to the Dutch international team in the last two years and they played a big part in securing qualification for Brazil.
Now Van Gaal is understood to want to bring them to Old Trafford to help him launch his era as United manager which will offically start in July when the World Cup is over.
He is apparently not interested in two of his predecessor David Moyes' targets, Toni Kroos and Cesc Fabregas.
But has given United the green light to pursue the signing of Southampton left-back Luke Shaw and will monitor the recovery of another Holland international, Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman, who will miss the World Cup with ruptured knee ligaments.
