Oscar-winning actress' controversial comment comes just days after Gwyneth Paltrow likens 'online abuse to being in a war'
CHARLIZE Theron has caused outrage after comparing press intrusion to rape.
In an interview with Sky News, the Oscar-winning actress – who is in the UK promoting her new film A Million Ways To Die In The West – was asked if she ever Googled herself.
"I don't do that, so that's my saving grace. When you start living in that world, and doing that, you start I guess feeling raped," she said.
Asked if the 38-year-old was serious, she replied: "Well, you know when it comes to your son and your private life. Maybe that's just me.

"Some people might relish all that stuff but there are certain things in my life that I think of as very sacred and I am very protective over them."
The mum-of-one's comments have sparked a backlash on Twitter, with one user saying: "She should try telling that to a real rape victim."
The Monster star's comment comes just days after Gwyneth Paltrow made an equally controversial statement.
Chris Martin's wife came under fire for likening the impact of negative online comments to being in a war.
