RIO FERDINAND has backed newly-appointed Manchester United boss Louis Van Gaal to lead the club to glory.
The Dutchman has signed a three-year deal, with Red Devils legend Ryan Giggs named as his assistant manager.
And Ferdinand - who is out of contract at Old Trafford - backs the 62-year-old tactician to take United back to the top of the Premier League.
Good luck to Louis Van Gaal as the new manager of Man Utd
"Hope they get #mufc back to the top where we belong."
Van Gaal will takeover from David Moyes, who was sacked for guiding the club to just seventh in the league.
