CHELSEA parked the bus on Tuesday night against Atletico Madrid to earn a 0-0 draw in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final.

Atletico will now travel to Stamford Bridge for the second leg next week knowing they will have away goals in their favour but also aware that only Sunderland have won at the ground during Jose Mourinho's reign.

The result was therefore a solid one for Chelsea but it did come at a cost.

The Blues lost Petr Cech in the first half to an injury that could well keep him out of this weekend's Premier League clash with Liverpool and John Terry also went off with a problem.

To add insult to injury both Frank Lampard and John Obi Mikel will miss the return fixture with Atletico after picking up bookings that will see them suspended for the second leg.

Nevertheless, Mourinho will be pleased with his sides' showing as the Blues defended resolutely throughout and withstood substantial pressure from the hosts in the dying phases to keep their clean sheet in tact.
