Health expert reveals such levels are 'dangerous' and says she needs to cut down
LAUREN Goodger claimed to have drank 20 vodkas last week. But the former TOWIE star has been warned such levels of drinking are dangerous and can influence her fans to think it is okay to do the same.
Lauren Booker, workplace programme manager from Alcohol Concern told OK! Online: "If Lauren has consumed 20 single standard 25 ml shots of vodka this would be 20 units.
"The recommended maximum units for a woman is 14 so it would be considered excessive drinking and if it is a regular occurrence then it is a cause for concern. It is a worry as I think people do look to celebrities and want to emulate their lifestyle."
Mark Wright's ex girlfriend made the confession to how much she drunk over Easter bank holiday weekend in her Diet Diaries column in new! magazine.
"I had a bit of a mental Easter and had the worst hangover after going out on the Sunday.
"Me and the girls went out in Shoreditch in east London and had a great time, but I felt so horrendous the next day!"
She then wrote she had consumed 20 vodkas.
But while the 26-year-old reality star may have shaken off the hangover, Alcohol Concern said she will see side effects in other ways.
"Alcohol affects everyone differently but one of the first things it will impact on is her skin," explained Lauren.
"It dehydrates it for a start and affect her complexion. In her column she says she is trying to lose weight and for a start alcohol has got useless calories which will help pile on the pounds.
"A single vodka is 55 calories so on its own is not too bad, but if you are talking 20 vodkas you are talking 1100 calories and if you are talking vodka and coke 2500 calories. It is more then recommended adult females don't drink more than two to three units a day and you should aim for alcohol free days to give your body a chance to get over it."
And as a guide to what is classed as excessive Lauren from Alcohol Concern said just ten vodkas is 3.5 times the recommended limit which would be the equivalent of driving 100 mph an hour in a 30 mph zone.
Sobering news indeed.
