According to The Hollywood Reporter, the pair - who worked together on the 2000 film The Beach - will reunite once again for the film, which marks the second movie made about the computer whizz, who died in 2011.
Last year, Two And A Half Men star Ashton Kutcher played the title role in the movie Jobs.
According to reports, David Fincher, who directed Facebook film The Social Network, was originally linked to the project but was dismissed after allegedly asking for a large salary.

It is believed that Fincher originally wanted Christian Bale to play the title role, but Oscar-winning filmmaker Boyle has insisted on getting DiCaprio involved.
The as-yet-untitled film will be based on Walter Isaacson's biography Steve Jobs, with a screenplay adapted by The Social Network writer Aaron Sorkin.
British director Boyle recently enjoyed acclaim for his role presiding over the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games.
