SIMON Cowell has become the first of Max Clifford's A-list clients to cut professional ties with the publicist, it was reported today.

A source claimed that the X Factor judge was "horrified" by the revelations made during Clifford's trial.
The PR was found guilty yesterday of eight counts of indecent assault.
He was cleared of a further two counts of indecent assault, and the jury could not reach a decision on one further count.
Victims told the court that he used his celebrity contacts and the promise of fame to bully them into carrying out sexual favours.
A source told The Sun: "Simon is horrified by what's happened and is no longer represented by Max.
"He's distancing himself from Max and his office."
Clifford has represented Cowell for over a decade.

The Shooting Star Chase children's hospices, which the pair used to regularly visit, has also axed Clifford as a patron following his conviction.
One of victims, a former teenage model, told The Sun: "I am delighted he has finally been exposed.
"Now the world knows the real Max Clifford. He is a predatory, manipulative monster."
The woman, who is now 48, told the paper that Clifford offered her a role in a Bond film when she was 17, before asking her to strip and then coercing her into performing a sex act on him.
She said: "I went to bed for four days. I was so traumatised I couldn't get up.
"I was terrified of other agents after that. I got one really lucrative job but didn't turn up for it because I was so scared."
There is also speculation that Jo Clifford, the publicist's former PA and wife of four years, could be planning to divorce her husband in the wake of the verdict.
She was notably absent from her husband's side during his trial, leaving Clifford's daughter Louise, from his first marriage, to accompany him to court.
Mrs Clifford has declined to comment to the press.
Clifford will be sentenced at Southwark Crown Court on Friday.
