Page, 69, also slapped the patient's leg in a "loss of temper" while Crook, 33, on one occasion jabbed her pen towards his head then tapped it repeatedly on his leg.
Both women worked at the time for The Priory Highbank Centre in Bury, Greater Manchester where Mr Moran was a patient.
He had suffered serious brain injuries and was left in a "minimally conscious state" after a car crash in April 2008, in Speke, Liverpool.
Mr Moran, then aged 17, from Halewood, Liverpool, was a Tranmere Rovers squad player at the time of the crash, which left two other teenagers in the car dead.
Jailing the pair, Judge Timothy Clayson, said: "By behaving as you did towards Daniel each of you broke in a fundamental way the trust placed in you by Daniel's family.
"Your duty was to care for him, to show him respect and kindness, to afford him dignity and to protect him: you chose instead to belittle and demean him.
"Furthermore, society as a whole rightly deplores abuse towards the vulnerable.
"In addition, and importantly, your misconduct was not limited to a single event of mistreatment but involved multiple occasions of abusive language as well; it is no mitigation to suggest that the victim was not or may not have been aware of how he was being abused indeed medical opinion indicates that he may have some degree of awareness."
