Ajax boss de Boer has publicly revealed his desire to take over from Sherwood, with his brother Ronald backing him as the man to take Tottenham forward.
"I can’t stop them having an opinion. I wouldn’t stop anyone having an opinion," Sherwood said.

When asked whether his position as manager is untenable, he said: "We play West Ham, then we play at home to Aston Villa, after that I will sit down with the chairman and we’ll decide what we’re going to do moving forward."
