LOUIS VAN GAAL has agreed to take over as Manchester United manager once his World Cup commitments with Holland have been completed.

The 62-year-old Dutchman sealed the Old Trafford deal following two days of talks in his secluded holiday villa in Portugal's Algarve.
It's likely that Ryan Giggs - named last week as interim boss until the end of the season in the aftermath of David Moyes' sacking - will remain in a coaching capacity alongside Van Gaal.
United's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward knew he had to move quickly to secure van Gaal's services, with Spurs already being in advanced talks with the former Ajax, Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss.
He flew to Portugal in the knowledge that the club's owners, the Glazers, had given Woodward a mandate to bring in a top trophy-winning manager after feeling they messed up over the appointment of Moyes, who arrived without any silverware.
The quest for a proven figure ruled out Giggs succeeding Moyes on a permanent basis.

Van Gaal will start work as soon as Holland's journey in the World Cup ?nals is over - it's unlikely that a mainly young team would progress as far as the quarter-finals. It means van Gaal being in situ in early July.
In the meantime he will deliver his own transfer targets although some, especially those playing in Germany - a footballing country he admires greatly - like Toni Kroos and Marco Reus, who are on an extensive list in Woodward's possession, will still be actively pursued.
Van Gaal has no time for superstars and has clashed in the past with strong characters like Rivaldo at Barcelona and Luca Toni at Bayern Munich.
He believes the strength of a side comes from team spirit. Robin van Persie is a confirmed van Gaal disciple and has sat alongside his international manager at a couple of games.
Van Gaal admits he learned a lot from former England boss Sir Bobby Robson and is close to Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, the two of them having worked together at Barcelona.
Now the pair will be soon battling it out for the Premier League title.
