Farmer ‘ran over my dogs after saying he’d shoot them’ #CarryGobySeanKellz #FutureGroupNG via @i_amreginaldjr

A FARMER ran over a businessman’s two dogs after threatening to shoot them when they wandered on to his land, it was claimed yesterday.

Jeremy Furnell, 46, said he wrestled the rifle away from Brian Risely and accused him of deliberately mowing down his pet dachshunds – one of whom died in his arms.
But 76-year-old Mr Risely insisted Mr Furnell had punched him unconscious before pointing the gun in his face and shouting: “I’m going to shoot you, now.”
He said he hit one of the dogs when he sped off in a panic in his van because he thought the businessman “wasn’t right in the head”.
Pig farmer Mr Risely added: “I’m sorry a dog was run over, but how can I expect to see a little dog? I didn’t see the second dog and didn’t feel a bump. He says I hit it, but I saw it run off happily.”
The fracas happened when Mr Furnell said he accidentally veered off the public footpath while walking dogs Misty and Mr Bojangles near the village of Manea, in Cambridgeshire.
The financial consultant said: “He came screeching towards me and slammed on his brakes. He shouted at me to get off his land. I said, ‘sorry mate I didn’t realise I was doing any harm’."
Then, he claimed, Mr Risely grabbed a box from his dashboard and announced they were “bullets to kill the dogs”.

Mr Furnell said: “I lost my temper and yanked his door open, grabbed him and pushed him over on the passenger side.
“I grabbed hold of his firearm and threw it on the ground and said, ‘you can’t shoot me now’.”
The farmer, he claimed, then drove off after the dogs and ploughed into them. Fatally-injured Misty died in his arms.
Mr Bojangles, who survived, was found whimpering in a field the next day.
But Mr Risely – who was arrested after the incident on April 3 – accused Mr Furnell of trespassing. He added: “I asked him three times to get back to the footpath but he got violent.
“He knocked me unconscious and when I came round he had a gun and was pointing it at me.
“He said he was going to shoot me, but I knew there were no bullets in the rifle. I thought he wasn’t right in the head so I made off at speed.
“I didn’t drive my van at him. He was hanging on the door.
“When I tell people not to come on my land they usually don’t come back.”
Mr Risely said he has now got rid of the weapon – which he used to scare off pigeons.
A spokesman for Cambridgeshire police confirmed yesterday: “The incident involved two men. One person was arrested.”
