A WAR of words over Britain’s “nasty” welfare policies deepened yesterday.

Work and Pensions Secretary Iain Duncan Smith fired off a furious letter to the EU Employment Commissioner Laszlo Andor accusing him of being biased against Britain.
The Hungarian socialist economist said it looked “nasty” to curb migrants’ benefits.
Singling out the UK for criticism gives me the impression that the Commission is not capable of impartial analysis and comment

Mr Duncan Smith was also enraged by Mr Andor’s claim that Britain’s scheme to help young people into work was “not sufficient”.
He told him: “Singling out the UK for criticism gives me the impression that the Commission is not capable of impartial analysis and comment.”
