Chelsea take on Atletico at the Vicente Calderon tomorrow night (7:45pm) hoping to recover from their Premier League blow against Sunderland on Saturday.
That was Mourinho's first defeat at Stamford Bridge in 77 games, and the Blues boss will hope for better luck in the Spanish capital.
And it seems that he has formulated a special plan for the crunch clash, which he clutched throughout his final training session at their Cobham HQ.
Chelsea fly out to Madrid this afternoon, and look likely to be without Eden Hazard through a calf injury.
Hazard is a major doubt to play against Atletico, but other than that Mourinho has no injury worries.
Cesar Azpilicueta is expected to recover from a knock against the Black Cats to play in Madrid, but with Branislav Ivanovic suspended he could play in his favoured right-back position.
Mourinho may decide to bring our-of-favour Ashley Cole in at left-back and switch Azpilicueta back to the right.
However, Express Sport understands he is considering keeping Azpilicueta on the left and bringing in David Luiz at right-back.
