POLICE are hunting for a 'drive-by shooter' armed with an airgun near the home of the Duchess of Cambridge's parents, it emerged today.

Two people have reported being hit with a BB gun in the village where Kate's parents Michael and Carole Middleton live.

The Middleton's bought their £5 million Grade II-listed Georgian home, Bucklebury Manor, in the quiet Berkshire village in 2012.

A police spokesman warned that if someone was shot in the face by the alleged gunman they could "easily lose an eye."

The BB gun shooter has been seen in the village, where Prince William and Kate took their new-born son Prince George following his birth last summer.

PC Kate Lathe said: "We are keen to speak to anyone else who may have come into contact with this vehicle, or anyone who can provide us with information about the vehicle and its movements."

In the first incident a 16-year-old said he was riding his moped and, as he passed the Blade Bone pub, saw a silver Vauxhall Astra before feeling a pain in his arm.

A police spokesman said: "He felt a pain on the left side of his body which he likened to being shot.

"A silver Vauxhall Astra, possibly a van, was seen speeding off afterwards in the direction of Thatcham.

In the second incident, around the same time, a 15-year-old and a friend were walking when they reported hearing a "twanging noise."
