Four pages of words, doodles and unused lines to the song that transformed Dylan from a folk hero to a rock icon will be sold at Sotheby’s in New York on June 24.

Sotheby’s expert Richard Austin said: “This is the holy grail of rock lyrics.”

Other lots include a manuscript of Dylan’s A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall, estimated to fetch up to £355,000, and memorabilia from The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix and Elvis Presley.
