LIONEL MESSI has sent shockwaves through the footballing world after threatening to "look for a solution" if Barcelona no longer felt the same affection for him.

Messi used a to clarify his feelings after MARCA reported that he had been jeered by his own fans during Atletico Madrid's league winning 1-1 draw.
The four-time Ballon d'Or winner explained how he was "very happy to stay" with Barcelona, however revealed that a Nou Camp exit is a possibility.
Messi said: "I’ve always said I’m very happy to stay at my home.

"This year hasn’t gone as expected and it wasn’t one of my best, but I’m convinced that next year will be different.
"It's down to the people at Barcelona to decide what to do with my future, but my choice is to stay, as I still feel the same affection from them.

The Argentine had looked set to commit his future to the Catalan giants by signing a £16.3m-a-year deal.
However, Barcelona are stalling over the 26-year-old's new deal, and could encourage a host of sides including Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City to bid for the disgruntled Argentine.
