DAVID LUIZ left Chelsea for PSG after his relationship with Jose Mourinho deteriorated to the point where the pair could no longer coexist.
Reports in Spain suggest that Manchester City made a concerted attempt to land Luiz last summer.
However, everything reportedly changed when Mourinho returned to Stamford Bridge.
It is suggested that one season was enough for both parties to realise they could not work together.
The reports suggest that Luiz was a favourite in the Chelsea dressing room for his positive attitude and willingness to do anything for a teammate.
But the Brazilian's carefree outlook did not mesh well with Mourinho, and there is some suggestion that the pair were not on speaking terms at times during the season.
Indeed, Luiz reached the conclusion that he needed a happier environment and that wouldn't be possible with Mourinho in charge.
Luiz was subsequently sold to Paris Saint Germain in a £50m deal and will now link up with international teammate Thiago Silva at the heart of the French sides' defence next season.
