THE SON of former Wimbledon champion and BBC commmentator John McEnroe has been arrested for allegedly possessing cocaine and pills following a street drugs deal.

Officers then found six small bags of cocaine more than two dozen prescription pills, ten morphine pills and 20 painkillers on him, according to reports last night.Police claim the 27-year-old old was seen in a “hand-to-hand sale” with another man.McEnroe, who lives in Brooklyn, was arrested on Tuesday night in East Village, a trendy area of Manhattan which is known for its drug problems.He appeared in court last night charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, and released without bail.He did not enter a plea and neither of his parents were present for the court hearing.Kevin McEnroe and Tatum O'Neal [GETTY]A second man, Niro Meneses, aged 22, has been charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.Former three-times Wimbledon champion and world no.1, John McEnroe, 55, admitted in his 2002 memoir he had used cocaine during his eight-year marriage to Kevin’s mother Tatum O’Neal.The actress has had her own very public battle with drugs. She was addicted to heroin from the age of 14 and vowed to stay clean of drugs in 2008 after being arrested for buying crack cocaine in Manhattan.John McEnroe was given custody of Kevin and their two other children during her battle with drugs.The sporting legend has since gone on to have two further children with his second wife singer Patty Smyth.There was no comment from the family last night.
