BRAZIL are set to sack Luiz Felipe Scolari after a disappointing World Cup.

Scolari's side finished fourth in the tournament on home soil, conceding 10 goals in their final two games.

And after Saturday's 3-0 third-place playoff loss to Holland followed the humiliating 7-1 semi-final defeat to Germany, Scolari has apparently been dropped.

According to reports in Brazil, Scolari will not remain as coach of the national team.

Globo TV said Brazil's confederation would make an official announcement later today. 

Delfim Peixoto, elected as a confederation vice president for 2015, confirmed the information to the UOL web news portal, revealing he was told by top officials that Scolari will not stay on.
