ARSENAL look to have seen off competition from Chelsea to land German midfielder Sami Khedira.
It is suggested that Khedira will sign a four-year deal at the Emirates worth approximately £150,000-a-week.
Reports last week suggested that Chelsea could try to hijack the Gunners move, with Jose Mourinho having worked with Khedira during his time in Madrid.
But it seems that Arsenal has always been the player's preference should he leave Real and he will now join fellow World Cup winners Mesut Ozil, Per Mertesacker, Lukas Podolski at the club.
Sami Khedira felt unappreciated at Real Madrid
Real agreed to sell Khedira this summer after he rejected new terms at the club, with the player reportedly feeling unappreciated in Madrid.
The 27-year-old spent much of last season sidelined with injury, and it seems that Real decided they could manage without him this term.
Khedira was last night ruled out of the World Cup final after picking up an injury in the warm up but was instrumental in the 7-1 demolition of Brazil in the semi-final.
