MANCHESTER UNITED are on the verge of launching a £40million bid for Arsenal target Arturo Vidal after Juventus named their price.
The Chilean powerhouse is contracted to a long-term deal in Turin, but reports in Italy claim that Antonio Conte's side have told the Red Devils they won't accept anything less than £40m for their star man.
Vidal is widely regarded as one of the best midfielders in the world, and new boss Louis Van Gaal is determined to partner him with £29million signing Ander Herrera as United look to compete for the Premier League title.
The 27-year-old, who made the switch to Italy from Bayer Leverkusen in 2011, is open to a new challenge after helping Juventus win three back-to-back Serie A titles, and could be tempted by a lucrative move to Old Trafford.
Arsenal are also keen on signing Vidal as they look to beat Liverpool to his compatriot Alexis Sanchez, and Arsene Wenger is prepared to match any offer made by the United hierarchy.
Real Madrid too are keeping tabs on Vidal, but could drop out of the race after agreeing a deal for Bayern Munich and Germany star Toni Kroos.
