FORMER Liverpool and England legend Michael Owen has revealed his Team of the Tournament, but has overlooked World Cup poster boy Neymar.
Manuel Neuer has been outstanding for Germany during the World Cup conceding just four goals[GETTY]Writing in his BetVictor column, Owen says he has gone for a blend of 'youth and experience' with a side that ranges from the experienced 30-year-old Javier Mascherano to the 21-year-old fledgling star Paul Pogba.
Owen has opted to include Holland's Arjen Robben despite the forward netting a goal less than Brazilian hero Neymar. However his incisive play, jinking runs and ruthless finishing have merited the Bayern Munich star's inclusion.Michael Owen has selected Philipp Lahm as his favoured right-back [BET VICTOR]The Golden Boot winner in-waiting James Rodriguez has unsurprisingly made the eleven, along with Lionel Messi and Thomas Mueller of Argentina and Germany respectively.Owen's back five includes two of Joachim Low's steely back five with the versatile Philipp Lahm occupying right-back and the almost unbeatable Manuel Neuer in goal.Former Manchester United starlet Paul Pogba joins Mascherano in the middle of the park, clearly the ex-Stoke striker believes the two represent the perfect contrast of attack and defence. No England players have been included in Owen's first 11 - and it could be said that none of Roy Hodgson's men would make a second or even third team...Do you agree with Michael Owen's Team of the Tournament?
