The comic, who recently said a tearful goodbye at the funeral of friend Rik Mayall, is on tour with her one- woman show, 30 Million Minutes, with tickets selling out at more than 40 venues.
Now at Brighton’s Theatre Royal until Saturday, French has been gaining praise for the production, which has yet to be given any West End dates.
The title refers to Dawn’s 56 years – or 30 million minutes – on Earth and has been called “life-affirming” and “tear-jerking” by reviewers.
French has said she was “sick with excitement” to be hitting the road alone, without her old friend and sidekick Jennifer Saunders.
