ARSENAL trio Per Mertesacker, Mesut Ozil and Lukas Podolski have all been named to start for Germany against Everton's Tim Howard, who starts in goal the USA.

Chelsea's Andre Schurrle once again has to settle for a place on the bench while Sami Khedira is also sidelined for the Germans.

Philipp Lahm starts in midfield while Thomas Muller continues his bid to win the Golden Boot up front.

For the USA former Fulham and Tottenham man Clint Dempsey leads the line and captains the side, with former Aston Villa loanee Michael Bradley behind him in midfield.

Germany side to play USA: Neuer; Boateng, Hummels, Mertesacker, Howedes; Schweinsteiger, Lahm, Kroos; Ozil, Podolski, Muller.
