A SECOND man has been charged over a car crash that left a young couple dead
Steven Ward, 25, of Swinton, Greater Manchester, is accused of causing the deaths of the couple by dangerous driving.
Mr Jones, 19, was driving a Vauxhall Corsa with 22-year-old Miss Hobson as his passenger on the A580 East Lancashire Road in Salford on Sunday.
At about 4.55pm they were involved in a crash with an Audi RS3 and an Audi S3 travelling eastbound along the A580, near the junction with Barton Road.
Mr Jones suffered multiple injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Miss Hobson was taken to hospital but later died from her injuries.
Carl Wood, of St James Street, Farnworth, has also been charged with two counts of causing death by dangerous driving and will next appear at Manchester Crown Court on July 8.
Ward, of South Avenue, will appear at Manchester Magistrates' Court today.
Paying tribute to Aaron, his dad Rob, 49, said: "He had a heart of gold. He had lots of friends. Everybody he met just took to him. He had a rather dry sense of humour like me. His mum would say we were as bad as each other.
"I just can't believe he's gone. I keep expecting him to walk through the door and say: 'Aha - fooled you.'"
Friends of the couple also paid tribute on social media.
Ryan Knowles said: "So sad knowing that I was driving up and down the East Lancs most of the day today and that's happened.
"RIP Amy Hobson and Aaron Jones."
J 'Bear' Marr wrote: "RIP Amy Hobson, never met you but you've been taken in the most horrific way. To think your son will now grow up without his mum."
Sam Paton, a classmate of Mr Jones, wrote: "RIP to Aaron Jones a guy in my college class killed by speeding cars! So sad to hear!"
Greater Manchester Police said they were looking through CCTV footage of the crash and appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
