Friends actress uses Twitter to announce engagement to boyfriend of eight months

 

COURTENEY Cox clearly wastes no time.

The Friends actress announced last night that she and boyfriend of eight months Johnny McDaid are set to tie the knot.

Announcing their engagement on Twitter with matching posts, they each showed off a loved-up snap and said: "I'm engaged to him!" and "I'm engaged to her!"

The couple started seeing each other last December after being introduced by the lovely Ed Sheeran.

Courteney, 50, and the Snow Patrol hottie have been inseparable ever since and decided marriage was the way forward when they took off to Turks and Caicos to celebrate her milestone birthday.

In April, Ed revealed that things were moving fast and that the pair "couldn't be happier".

"It’s still early days but they certainly enjoy each other’s company and feel very comfortable with each other.”

Courteney split from David Arquette in June 2012 and he recently welcomed a baby boy with new girlfriend Christina McLarty.
