Call girl Kirsty Edmondson, 23, and her lover Christopher Sawyers, 35, lived with Kenneth Chapman’s corpse for up to a week, a jury was told.
They allegedly stole his TV and computer and raided his bank account in a string of online frauds, even texting his sister pretending to be him to ask to borrow £75.
Manchester Crown Court heard Sawyers showed a photo on his phone of Mr Chapman to friends, saying: “Look at this.
"I will show you a photo of a corpse.”
Police found Mr Chapman, 47, dead in his flat in Eccles, Greater Manchester on January 12.
He had been injected with a lethal dose of heroin.
It is alleged Sawyers realised there was “money to be made out of murder” after he killed a former accountant with the same drug 17 months earlier.
Tony Cross QC, prosecuting, said the pair were “callous and despicable”, adding: “They took ‘selfies’ in the very room where he lay rotting.
“These photos are trophy photos – two people proud of their work.
"They had sex in his bed and filmed it.

"They stole and committed fraud.
“Attempts were made to order goods, top up mobile phones and pay forged cheques into Sawyers’s bank account.
"This was how they lived their lives, using his home, car and property as their own.
"They did so because, as Christopher Sawyers was later to tell witnesses, he wanted to ‘off’ him, to kill him, to end his life.”
The jury heard Mr Chapman lost his job as a history teacher after going to jail.
After his release he met Edmondson, took drugs and associated with call girls.
The court heard on December 28 Edmondson and Sawyers went back to Mr Chapman’s flat and took drugs.
It is alleged he was given a lethal dose while unconscious.
Sawyers was also responsible for the death of former accountant Peter Clark, 60, who he took heroin with, the jury was told.
Sawyers denies the murder of Mr Chapman and the manslaughter of Mr Clark.
Edmondson denies murder.
The trial continues.
