THE captain of the Malaysia Airlines plane which vanished with 239 people on board is now the police's chief suspect, it has been reported today.
Malaysian authorities discovered the married father of three appeared to have made no future work or social plans in contrast to the rest of his crew.
Police also found Mr Shad had programmed a flight simulator to rehearse a journey over the Indian Ocean and landing on an island with a short runway.
Search efforts for debris from MH370 focused on an area of the Indian Ocean before officials claimed it was not the final resting place of the plane.
The official Malaysian police inquiry into the disappearance of MH370 does not rule out the cause being mechanical failure of terrorism.
The police are still looking into all possible angles
The pilot, whose flight simulator was deleted from his computer, also created aviation videos and posted them online.
Police heard rumours that Mr Shah was experiencing personal problems in his marriage but those have been denied by his family.
Friends and family of Mr Shah have denied the speculation about the pilot and said the truth of how MH370 vanished will emerge when the black box is found.
Speaking to The Sunday Times, a spokesman for the Malaysian police said the investigation into MH370 was "ongoing".
He said: "The police investigation is still ongoing.
"To date no conclusions can be made as the contributor to the incident and it would be sub judice to say so.
"Nevertheless, the police are still looking into all possible angles."
He said: "We can say with a high degree of certainty that aircraft communications system was disabled."
On March 24 he announced that the plane had crashed into the southern Indian Ocean and it was assumed there were no survivors.
