MANCHESTER UNITED were the top English earners in Champions League football last season.

Despite finishing seventh in the Premier League under manager David Moyes, United did well enough in Europe to take home nearly £36million.

That was more than any other team in English football, with Chelsea taking home just shy of £35m even though they reached the semi-finals.

Manchester City picked up just over £28m but will have their sum withheld due to breaking Financial Fair Play regulations.

Meanwhile, Arsenal were bottom of the Prem pile with almost £22m earned.
