Albert Square hardman left with a guilty conscience as his girlfriend lays in hospital

EASTENDERS is about to take a dark twist in tonight's BBC1 episode.
After hearing his girlfriend Sharon Rickman is in hospital fighting for her life after a bar attack, Phil Mitchell decides to take matters into his own hands.

After visiting his partner, the Albert Square badman lashes out and goes after the two men who left her battered and bruised.
But while most of us would think it's for revenge, it turns out it's a case of a guilty conscience.
Phil – who had a falling out with Sharon over having bouncers on the door – sent two masked men to break into the bar to prove she needed extra security.
However, the burly men he hired didn't stick to the plan and ended up leaving Letitia Dean's character bleeding on the floor.

Sharon had left herself without doorman after she sent them home early for drinking on the job.
Left with only Johnny to help her lock up, Sharon was confronted by two masked men who tackled her to the floor and left her unconscious.
The barman, who was upstairs getting his coat at the time, hid out of harm's way leaving the blonde to defend herself.
We can't imagine Sharon's going to be very happy when she finds out about Phil's latest tricks.
