THE husband of a nurse who was discovered dead in the boot of a car appeared in court today accused of her murder
Pierre Legris, 60, appeared at Bournemouth Magistrates' Court charged with the murder of Rui Li between May 22 and May 31.
He stands accused of killing his 44-year-old wife, who had worked as a nurse at Poole Hospital since 2009, at his home in Burnham Drive, Bournemouth.
Legris, dressed in dark blue tracksuit bottoms and a grey T-shirt, spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address during the brief hearing.
Neither prosecutor Nicola Reece nor defence solicitor Siobhain Egan spoke during the two-minute session.
Legris entered no formal plea and was remanded in custody to appear at Winchester Crown Court on June 4.
We still very much want to hear from anyone who may have any information about what happened to Rui Li
Chairman of the bench Alan Belbin told him: "You are being sent for trial to the Crown Court sitting at Winchester on June 4 at 10am for the offence of murder.
"You will be attending on that day for a preliminary hearing."
Police discovered Ms Li's body "concealed within a silver Fiat Punto" in Verwood Crescent in north Bournemouth on Friday night after she was reported missing by her daughter on Tuesday.
Lu Yao, 18, last saw her mother alive at the family home on the evening of May 23.
She was seen on CCTV leaving Poole Hospital's car park in her Porsche Boxster earlier that day.
Ms Li, who moved to Britain from China a decade ago, lived "quite a private personal life", according to officers.
Legris's 26-year-old son, Jonathan, also from Bournemouth, has been charged with assisting an offender.
He has been released on bail until June 17 when he will appear at Bournemouth Magistrates' Court.
A Dorset Police spokesman said: "We still very much want to hear from anyone who may have any information about what happened to Rui Li.
"In particular we would like anyone with information about the movements of two vehicles - a silver Fiat Punto with registration plate W887 PDL and a large white Ford Transit van with registration plate Y491 GFT - between May 24 and May 28 to contact police."
