JAMES Jordan put on a brave face yesterday afternoon as he stepped out for lunch following the confirmation that he will not be joining this year's Strictly Come Dancing line up.
Arriving with a spring in his step, the 36-year-old showed no sign of being troubled by the announcement of his sudden departure from the hit BBC 1 show.
In fact, he looked happier than ever as he joined his wife and two friends at the quaint pub, laughing and joking while soaking up the rays as they ate al fresco.
He wrote: "WELL TWEEPS, Yes it’s true I WILL NOT be returning to ‘BURN THE FLOOR’… Sorry, I mean ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ However… do not believe everything the BBC have written in their statement."
And today he retweeted a "we'll miss you" message from the BBC with the comment: "So why sack me?"
Yesterday, a spokesperson revealed the news that James would not be returning to the show with a statement.
“It wasn’t to be partnered with a celebrity, but it was to be involved in specials such as Children In Need, that sort of thing.
“But he declined that. He was offered a reduced role on the show.”
Russian hunk Artem Chigvintsev, 31, who was partnered with soap star Natalie Gumede last year, will also not be returning after deciding to stay stateside after appearing in the US version of the show.
“A huge thank-you goes out to both Artem and James for being hard-working, dedicated dancers on the show, and we wish them all the very best.”
