World Cup records tumbling in Brazil #TheEliteParty #Entertain9jar via @myentertain9jar

THE World Cup in Brazil is on course to become the best in history after the record for the number of goals scored in the opening round of matches was broken last night.

Belgium’s Dries Mertens scored the 47th goal of the tournament as his side came back from a goal down to beat Algeria 2-1.
And that was set with the last of the opening matches still to be played – Russia versus South Korea – late last night.
The previous record of goals scored after each team had played one game was 46, set in 2002 in Japan and South Korea – and this year’s World Cup is now on course to smash the record of total goals scored in a tournament – 171, set at France 98.
There has already been some spectacular strikes, notably Robin van Persie’s
diving header against Spain, which led to a raft of YouTube clips of people around the globe doing ‘a Persie’.
Goals aside, this World Cup has been packed with talking points – from the refereeing controversy in Brazil’s opening match against Croatia, to the goalline technology used to good effect in France’s 3-0 win over Honduras.
All this in what is considered the spiritual home of football. It really is the beautiful game.
