Nigeria 2 - Argentina 3: Lionel Messi lights up World Cup with deadly double #TheElitePartyInJuly #Entertain9jar via @myentertain9jar

BARCELONA star Lionel Messi and Arsenal target Angel Di Maria were in fine form for Argentina as they overcame a stubborn Nigeria team including Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel to secure their place at the top of Group F in the World Cup, but Manchester City will be panicking after Sergio Aguero left the field with an injury.

Messi opened the scoring early for his side after just three minutes, slamming the ball into the roof of the net following Di Maria's shot which rebounded off the post.
However Nigeria shocked the world when Ahmed Musa responded after less than a minute with a ferocious shot after cutting inside from the wing.
Aguero was forced to come off after 36 minutes after picking up a knock, and if serious could miss the start of the season for Manuel Pellegrini's side.
Nigeria keeper Vicent Enyeama pulled off a great save to deny Messi a second goal, but the talismanic forward stepped up on the stroke of half-time to fire his side ahead with a world-class free-kick.
However winger Musa was in no mood to play second-fiddle, and just one minute into the second half fired in an equaliser for Nigeria after some cleve one-two play with Emmanuel Emenike.
Despite the leveller, Argentina were ahead just four minutes later when Marcos Rojo rather fortunately found the back of the net after the ball bounced off his knee following a corner.
Musa came close to completing his hat-trick with just 10 minutes remaining, but City star Pablo Zabaleta pulled off a match-winning block to deny the in-form Nigerian.
Argentine were able to keep possession for the remainder of the game and see out the win, leaving Argentina top of Group F with three wins out of three.
Despite the loss, Nigeria also qualify for the next round, albeit in second, after Iran lost to Bosnia.
